Beach Abstract has been dishing the dirt, so to speak, on Arkansas
land for more than 100 years. In fact, we didnt just chronicle
the history of Arkansas land ownership, our founders were players
in the creation of that history.
Our founder, A.D. Beach, was a civil engineer from New York who
was doing government surveying for a proposed shipping route across
the Isthmus of Darien. We would later know that land mass as the
Isthmus of Panama and the shipping lane as the Panama Canal.
Poor health resulting from the mosquito infested terrain of Panama
forced him to leave his work and relocate to Little Rock, where
he took over the responsibilities of the late J. Fairfax Houghborough.
Just 41 years after Arkansas statehood, Beach Abstract was founded
in May, 1877, and began a tradition of making surveys, title searches
and abstracts that would last into the second millennium.
Because some of our records date back to Arkansass territorial
days, we have original records on Spanish Grant claims for land
north of the Arkansas River, and on lands given to people in lieu
of their original land that was damaged during the New Madrid
earthquakes of 1811-1812. These are called New Madrid Grants.
Today, we provide residential and commercial title insurance,
escrow and closing services and 1031 tax free exchanges throughout
the state from our offices in Pulaski, Saline, Garland, Lonoke
and Faulkner counties. Our commitment to the people and the history
of Arkansas is as strong today as it was 122 years ago. And now
as then, you can depend on it.
